Simple breakfast.
Boyfriend was showering. I wanted to make something yummy. I had purchased some Challah from the grocery store just in case I needed to whip up a dessert of bread pudding – but that never happened. I decided to turn my Challah into french toast.
This makes about 3 thick slices.
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom
Whisk it up. Cut bread into 1 inch slices. Soak bread in egg mixture for 1 minute a side. Heat up a skillet on Medium High. Add in 2 tablespoons of butter, swirling the pan to get the melted butter all over the base of the pan. Slowly add soaked bread and let it sit on medium-medium high for about 3 minutes per side until GBD (Golden Brown and Delicious). I let mine sit for a minute.
Oh no, it looks like it needs something else!
Frozen blueberries… what to do, what to do. I added about a tablespoon of butter to my pan and about 1/4 cup of frozen blueberries and swirled it around until the juices just began to leach from the blueberries. Top the Challah with a tab of butter and pour on the blueberries.
Absolutely deletable.
